RON PAUL ‘08 Will You Vote for Evil? I would never vote for Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama. That said, I can’t bring myself to even consider John McCain. John McCain has proven himself to be a liberal. The McCain-Feingold bill which basically bans free speech in politics, his pro stance on amnesty for illegals to include the McCain-Kennedy bill, and his current stance on the economy with emphasis on government intervention are only a few of his liberal leanings that paint a RINO picture of John McCain. In my opinion all three of these jokers are weapon grade insane. I believe the conservatives in Congress will fight tooth and nail against any and all Clinton or Obama attempts to further liberalize our country should either of them be elected. They’ll do this not for the country but for the party and for themselves. It’s what they do. On the other hand, if McCain is elected, the conservatives in Congress will support most if not all McCain proposed legislation and because McCain has such a liberal leaning the liberals in Congress will likely follow him as well. This leaves this country without a conservative leadership or representation. I’ll not send a message that I endorse a RINO. Dr. Ron Paul, ten term Congressman from Texas, is still in the race. His message is clear; a constitutional government, dismantling the IRS and the Federal Reserve, strengthening our second amendment, securing our borders, honoring states rights, and removing our prying presence in over 200 countries worldwide. He leaves little doubt that he is a patriotic American and will serve our nation as such. When discussing Ron Paul, I’ve found that most folks support his policies. If they don’t agree totally with what Dr. Paul stands for, they almost always mention that they dislike his “isolationist” stance. Unfortunately, this is a picture painted by the liberal media, if they choose to put Dr. Paul on the canvas at all, and it is untrue. Dr. Paul supports trade between our country and other nations. He doesn’t support the “fair trade” fiasco, in the name of globalization, with which we are now saddled. That we are in a strengthening global market is obvious. That America is getting screwed in the process is also obvious. Dr. Paul is also against the U.S. meddling in foreign affairs. We have a tendency to stir up conflicts so we can enter other countries under the guise of “spreading democracy.” Our worldwide status has changed over the years fueled by a deep hatred for U.S. foreign policies. We are ever more quickly being castrated in public. The attitude of Myanmar during their typhoon catastrophe is one of intolerance toward U.S. aid. What does it say when a country would rather let its people suffer than allow the U.S. entry onto its sovereign soil? Myanmar’s government, regardless of their politics, is afraid of U.S. intervention. It said it would accept U.S. aid if its government was allowed to distribute the aid. Many liberals are outraged at this attitude and accuse the Myanmar government of hoarding the supplies. We have no proof of this but it likely is so. But let’s consider, if the U.S. was hit by a major catastrophe would our government allow another government to set up shop for the purposed “distribution of aid”? Oh Hell no. If the second option of sending the U.S. aid and allowing the government to distribute it were accepted by our government would the aid make it to where was needed? Doubtful, and if it did it would be but a shadow of what was originally meant to be delivered. Washington bureaucrats have created this distrust and not just on foreign soil. The taste in the mouths of Americans for our government is growing more and more foul. On Tuesday, May 20, it is important that you vote for Ron Paul. McCain is and will still be the Republican nominee but we need to send McCain and Congress a message that we do not and will not support a liberal Republican. Your vote won’t be wasted; McCain won’t be affected by the Kentucky primary. Since we are unfortunately a sports oriented society let’s use this analogy. It is the last game in the Southeast Conference and your team has held on throughout the tournament but doesn’t have a chance of winning. The game is not going to decide who goes to the NCAA. In the last few seconds your team is down by 50 points and you have been given the opportunity to symbolically toss one free throw for either team. Do you toss your hat in with the obvious winner or do you follow your heart and pitch one for your team? I think the answer is obvious. A vote for Ron Paul is a vote for America.
